Build sustainable partnerships for change
GFSA is committed to working in partnership to create a safer South Africa. To help us – and you – build and sustain collaborations for meaningful change, our youth team developed a Partner Toolkit with support from the DG Murray Trust.
If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.
Deal with firearms in a deceased estate
If the owner of a firearm has died, the Firearms Control Act (2000) prescribes how the firearm must be dealt with by the heir.
Survive an incident of gun violence
If you've been shot or threatened by a gun, witnessed gun violence, or know someone who’s been killed, injured or threatened by a gun, you're a survivor of gun violence.
Make your space a Gun Free Zone
You can take action against gun violence by declaring your space – your home, your place of work, worship or study, even your car – a Gun Free Zone (GFZ).
Help stop a gun-related suicide
Reducing access to lethal means is an effective way to increase the odds that a suicide attempt will end in care, not in death.
Remove a gun from domestic violence
Any woman who lives in fear of a gun in her home can ask the magistrates court or the police to remove the gun immediately.
